  3.  * WHAT IS INFINET? - A worldwide organization dedicated to promoting
  4.    freedom of information - A forum for intelligent expression and
  5.    interchange of ideas, ideals, and opinions.

  7.  * WHO DOES IT CATER TOWARDS? - InfiNet is primarily and predominantly
  8.    composed of users and sysops ranging from their 20s to 40s.  There is
  9.    a strong emphasis on social interaction, rather than a technical one.

  14.    Gone Tomorrow" network.  We've been around for five long years, and
  15.    fully intend to remain active for many, many more.

  17.  * FREEDOM FROM EXPENSE - You want it?  You got it!  There is never ANY
  18.    charge or fee to join InfiNet.  ANY sysop or user that is interested in
  19.    carrying InfiNet may feel free to pick it up.  All that is needed to
  20.    join is a single, COMPLETELY confidential application.  Once it has
  21.    been completed, you're in.

  23.  * EXPANSIVE - Featuring hundreds of nodes in all areas of the world.
  24.    With ten regional hosts, and literally dozens of individual area code
  25.    hubs for the United States and Canada, calling expenses (if any) are
  26.    certain to remain low at all times.

  28.  * FREEDOM FROM CENSORSHIP - Every person's opinion truly counts for
  29.    something.  All users are able to express themselves freely and openly,
  30.    without fear of cruel or overbearing moderators jumping in at a
  31.    moment's notice.  Messages are NEVER censored, reviewed or restricted,
  32.    and the ONLY moderation that takes place is when a user is either
  33.    blatantly off-topic, engages in continual personal attacks, or is
  34.    continually disruptive.

  37.  > most definitely NOT for everyone!  Handles and aliases ARE allowed, as
  38.  > is the use of profanity (within reason).  Although no illegal acts are
  39.  > committed or discussed, ALTERNATIVE VIEWPOINTS ARE ENCOURAGED, and
  40.  > biased, bigoted, political, unpopular or otherwise controversial
  41.  > opinions are often prevalent.  Due to this fact, this network may NOT
  42.  > be suitable for young children or extremely conservative persons.

  44.  * FREEDOM OF CHOICE - With a vast array of 163 message areas, InfiNet
  45.    specializes in topics which most other nets either ignore completely,
  46.    or assign "general" bases for.  We are quite willing to add in new
  47.    echos, based solely upon demand.  Also, only FOUR echos are required:
  48.    Sysops are free to choose ONLY echos that they are interested in!

  50.  * QUALITY <AND> QUANTITY - Not only will you find InfiNet a true haven
  51.    for intelligent conversation, but:

  53.     * InfiNet is FREE!  The ONLY cost (if any) is that of calling
  54.       your host to pick up your mail - No entrance/startup fees,
  55.       no maintenance, and no involuntary Cost Recovery Programs.

  58.       50 and 250 kilobytes, compressed, when carrying all echos.

  63.       it is also offered as a QWK Network, a WWIV Network, a
  64.       VirtualNet (Type 1) Network.  Plans for packet transfers
  65.       via FTP, IP, UUCP, WWW and Internet E-Mail are in the works.

  68.    moderated by the users!  One person (a sysop, or an end user) controls
  69.    each echo, defining its' policies, its' freedoms, and its' topicality.
